Day 183: Embracing the Journey of Completion
“It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.” —Confucius
Today marks a significant milestone in my journey—a day nearly two decades in the making. For as long as I can remember, finishing what I started has been a battle, a symptom of my ADHD that led to countless beginnings but very few endings. But tomorrow, I will attempt to close a chapter that has remained open far too long.
I’ve not taken a test or faced such a formal challenge in years, and while I’m not brimming with confidence, I recognize that the act of stepping up to this challenge is an achievement in its own right. It’s about proving to myself more than to anyone else that the journey matters just as much as the destination.
In the midst of this, I’m reminded of a promise I made to Hope—I finally found something not worth giving up on, and that was my feelings for her and the future I envisioned with us. Yet, as I navigate the tumultuous waters of letting go and holding on, I’m discovering something profound. Maybe, just maybe, I, myself, am worth not giving up on.
Tomorrow, whether I succeed or stumble, it will be a victory because I chose to face it. This isn’t just about completing a test; it’s about affirming my own worth and continuing to move forward, no matter the pace.
To anyone out there struggling to finish what they’ve started, remember that each small step is a part of a greater journey. Keep moving, keep striving, and let’s not lose heart together.
