Day 156: Blooming at Your Own Pace
Share
Today’s reflection brings us to a simple yet profound truth courtesy of Zen Shin: “A flower does not think of competing with the flower next to it. It just blooms.” It’s a reminder that life isn’t a race or a competition. Like flowers in a garden, we each have our own pace, our own conditions under which we flourish best.
Isn’t it liberating? Instead of looking over our shoulders or measuring our progress against someone else’s, we can focus on our own growth, on blossoming in our own time and way. Think about it—have you ever seen a sunflower stressing about how tall it is? Me neither. Maybe it’s too busy reaching for the sun!
Let’s carry this metaphor into our lives. Let’s nurture our soil, bask in our own light, and grow at our own perfect pace. And if you ever feel like you’re struggling in the shade, remember, even the tallest trees started as seeds.
As always, if you’re finding your growth stifled or just need a little water to help you along, my door is always open. Let’s keep growing together.
