Day 112: What is Love?

Day 112

One Step. One Punch. One Round. 🥀

What is love? Not the love we feel for our children or parents—but raw, unfiltered love. The kind that shakes you, challenges you, and makes you question everything.

It’s definitely not:

Nightly drinking and zero motivation.

Conversations reduced to GIFs and emojis, avoiding depth.

Sitting stagnant for years, hoping things will magically change.

Moving across the country together, thinking life will be different.

That’s not love. That’s complacency.

But then, there’s Hope. When I looked into her eyes for the first time, something in me shifted. It wasn’t just inspiration—it was transformation. She didn’t tell me to change; her presence alone made me want to be better. From overweight to fit. From deep addiction to sober. It wasn’t fast or easy, but here I am on Day 112, moving forward, refusing to look back.

This journey hasn’t been without its battles. I’ve stared death in the face, wrestled with my mind, and fought against my heart. I’m not looking for sympathy—I’m not standing still. Every day is a fight: one step, one punch, one round at a time.

Yet, the thoughts linger. My mind plays on a loop, replaying my feelings for Hope. Was it real? Am I insane? Or is this what love is supposed to feel like? I keep coming back to this: she inspired me to heal, to grow, to fight—not for her, but for myself.

So I ask you: What is love? How far would you go for the person who makes you believe in something greater—who makes you believe in yourself?
